Rocket ships

You know all those paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls that go to waste. Well, we use them for crafts... Here we made a rocket ship. First we colored the rolls and wrote our names. Then made a cone out of rolling construction paper and taped it to the top for the point. Then cut strips of red, blue, orange & yellow tissue paper for the  flames and taped them to the bottom. We finished it by adding strips if construction paper around the top and bottom of the roll where the tape marks would be ( just to make it look neat) and, blast off!

My place in the world

 

This was a fun and simple craft for kids. I used a paper plate for the base and then 5 colored pieces of construction paper cut into circles. Searched online for the pictures and cut and pasted everything together. The kids all colored their own "my place in the world" pictures. At story time we incorporate this to learn about "my place in the world".

Write your letters on cupcake papers, pick an animal to find, hide animal under a letter (kids close eyes), have the kids call out the big & little letter before they can look under to find their animal. Pick a new animal after each turn/reveal.

Summer 2013

July is here and summer is moving right along! We're loving the warm and beautiful days at our daycare in Watsonville, CA. Lots of time to create and explore outside!

We had to cut down two of our big trees on the property due to a bee problem and potential hazardous falling branches. We were sad to see the trees go but now we have piece of mind and a lot more play space. following you'll see some photos of the updated space plus some photos of Casa De Kids. enjoy! We hope you are having a wonderful fun filled summer ;)
